Finally the largest part of the house is being renovated, the roof ! see pictures below for a progress update.

  
The roof is coming off ! First work is getting all the old tiles and support beams off, a dirty job as it has the combined dust and dirt of at least 50 years :)

 
First part of the roof is ready, all old material is removed, beams are cleaned and new wooden planks are attached on top of the old beams.

 

The result of some of the hard work, inside view of the new wooden planks that are painted white on attached on top of the support beams.

  

First part of the roof is water proof ! on top of the wooden planks, insulation  (10cm) has been added and a waterproof plastic layer ontop of that. To fix it all on its place small wooden beams have been nailed.
